It turns out the Milwaukee Bucks are considerably better with Giannis Antetokoumpo.

After defeating the Bucks earlier in the week, the Cavs fell to Milwaukee 127-105. Antetokoumpo lead all scorers with 26 points, and contributed 10 rebounds and seven assists for good measure.

Positive: Good games from Kevin Love and Collin Sexton

While neither player shot particularly well, both were able to still put forward a strong performance overall.

Love didn't do his field goal percentage any favors missing bunnies at the rim. However he didn't give up on the play and accumulated five offensive rebounds on his way to 20 points and 19 rebounds on the night. If you care about arbitrary streaks, Sunday was a tough night for Sexton. He came up two points shy of continuing his 20 point streak.

While regression was overdue for Sexton, he still managed to put up more points than shots with 18 points on 15 shots. A feat that was a rare occurrence earlier this season can now be considered a disappointment given his recent play.

Negative: Cedi Osman's slump continues.

Osman is 3-13 from deep over his last three games after going 0-5 against the Bucks. On the plus side, Osman has recognized that his shot isn't falling and isn't jacking up attempts. But there has been a decline in his activity off-ball at times over this stretch.

While his outside shooting has come a long way this season, his greatest strength is still as a slasher and by doing the little things. It's important that Osman doesn't lose sight of this as the team continues to add talent. There will be nights where he is a primary contributor offensively, but most of the time he'll need to be the glue guy in lineups with more talented players.

Negative: Three-point shooting was sub-par

Here is another example of shifting expectations as the season has progressed. The thought of the Cavs shooting 41 three pointers in a single game would be hard to imagine earlier in the season. But as Osman and Sexton have become more comfortable from deep and with Love back in the lineup, Cleveland’s offense has looked far closer to modern.

While some of the looks were smart decisions, there were some quick-trigger attempts after offensive rebounds when the team should have just reset and worked for a better look.

I’d rather see the Cavs go 11-41 from deep than jack-up ill-advised long twos, but better discretion could have gone a long way Sunday afternoon.
