Take of the day
So, I am not in favor of weighing draft prospects solely on what they do in March. It’s not a big enough sample size for us to really learn anything.
But here’s the thing: I am really bummed that Ja Morant is out of the tournament. I am skeptical of him as a prospect and specifically about his fit with Collin Sexton. But seeing him against competition a step above the players he’d going up against in the Ohio Valley Conference is highly interesting and fun to watch and film we could actually learn from. So, color me annoyed that he’s done.
Draft watch
As of today, the Cavs have the third-worst record in the NBA. They have a 52.1 percent chance of landing a top-four pick and a 14 percent chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick. They could pick as low as No. 7 overall.
Today’s Tankathon sim yielded the Cavs the fourth overall pick. They have a 12 percent chance of picking in this slot:

The pick the Cavs are owed from the Rockets is currently slotted in at No. 25 overall.
