Two status updates were issued by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday afternoon regarding the status of Dylan Windler and Ante Zizic.
Windler, already ruled out for the remainder of the season, underwent successful surgery to address the symptoms related to stress reaction in his lower left leg.
Additionally the team provided the following statement regarding Ante Zizic:
Center Ante Zizic, who has missed the team’s last five games after being diagnosed with a vestibular condition, will be OUT indefinitely. After experiencing symptoms of nausea and dizziness, it was determined by the Cavaliers medical team that Zizic requires a period of vestibular rehabilitation to evaluate those symptoms further. His return to basketball activities will be updated as appropriate.
This is a tough blow for Zizic who has struggled to find a consistent spot in the rotation since joining the Cavs. The team declined to pick up his option prior to this season and there is a chance that he has played his last game as a Cavalier.
John Henson will continue to serve as the backup center, unless/until he and/or Tristan Thompson are dealt within the next two weeks.
