The Cleveland Cavaliers look to sweep the season series against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night.
Who: Minnesota Timberwolves (13-21) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (10-25)
When: 7:30 PM EST
Where: Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, Cleveland, Ohio
Where to watch: Fox Sports Ohio, NBA League Pass
The Cavaliers will be without Kevin Love as they host Minnesota. The first meeting between these two teams was one of the sloppiest outings of the season for Cleveland, as they turned the ball over 28 times - and somehow still won.
Both teams could be shorthanded once again, as Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, Jeff Teague, Noah Vonleh, Trevon Graham, and Tristan Thompson (illness) are listed as game time decisions. Additionally, Larry Nance Jr, Dylan Windler, Kevin Love, and Jake Layman are all listed as officially out.
Kevin Porter Jr. will make his return to the Cavs lineup, after missing Saturday’s loss to the Thunder for personal reasons. He, Collin Sexton, and Darius Garland all appear to be taking strides forward since the departure of Jordan Clarkson. With the possibility of Thompson, Love, and Nance all being inactive, the young guards will need to step up in a big way.
The status of so many players being up in the air makes figuring out what will happen Sunday night difficult. The Wolves have had two nights of rest, while the Cavs are on the second night of a back to back. So if Towns or Wiggins plays while Thompson sits, I would give Minnesota the edge.
Fear the Sword’s Fearless Prediction
This game is probably going to be sloppy and feature a lot of bad basketball. Wolves win 105-97.
