The Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2020 preseason schedule is set.
Per a release from the NBA, the Cavs will play four preseason games, two at home and two on the road. The schedule is as follows. All times are Eastern:
- Saturday, Dec. 12 at home vs. the Pacers, 7 p.m. tip
- Monday, Dec. 14 at home vs. the Pacers, 6 p.m. tip
- Wednesday, Dec. 16 in New York vs. the Knicks, 7:30 p.m. tip
- Friday, Dec. 18 in New York vs. the Knicks, 7:30 p.m. tip
The schedule reflects what might be part of the regular season schedule when that’s announced. The Cavs, in this structure, play two games at home against a Pacers team that will spend a few days in Cleveland instead of coming in and immediately leaving when the game is over. Then, they go to New York for to play the Knicks twice in three days.
Dec. 12 will mark the Cavs’ first game action since March 10, when they played the Bulls. A few days later, the NBA season was halted amid the still-going coronavirus pandemic. Cleveland then was not invited to the Orlando bubble as one of the league’s eight worst teams.
NBA training camps ahead of the 2020-21 season are scheduled to start on Dec. 1 with players reporting in the coming days. The 72-game regular season is scheduled to start on Dec. 22.
