No Cleveland Cavaliers in the All-Star game once again. Which — all respect to Collin Sexton — is the right call. To me, it also feels fair to question if their should be an All-Star game at all amid the on-going pandemic.
But this is also a cool weekend for a lot of guys. It’s amazing that Mike Conley, finally, is on an All-Star team after being one of the league’s best guards for a long, long time now. This weekend means a lot to guys like Zach LaVine and Julius Randle — both first time All-Stars — too. And Zion Williamson is the fourth-youngest player to ever make an All-Star game. That’s pretty cool and impressive.
And remember this too: All-Star comes to Cleveland next year. This isn’t my favorite event in the world, but it’s going to be fun to have it at Rocker Mortgage FieldHouse and see the league’s best in Cleveland.
