The Cleveland Cavaliers had the lottery balls bounce in their favor on Tuesday night.

Coming in with the fifth-best odds to get the No. 1 overall pick, the Cavs came away with the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft. Cleveland had a 11.2 percent chance of landing the third pick.

There are a number of interesting names to watch with this pick. One would be Jalen Green, who played with G League Ignite last year and is a 6’6” scoring wing who could fit really nicely as a scoring punch on the wing. Maybe they go with Jalen Suggs, the Gonzaga product who could be an interesting playmaking option even if the fit isn’t clean. Maybe Evan Mobley, the USC center who many consider the No. 2 overall talent behind Cade Cunningham, slides for a reason or another.

Regardless of who the pick is and what the Cavs with do with it, this is a big night. It’s not getting to No. 1, but getting into the No. 3 slot is a good place to be. Tuesday is a good day for the Cavs as an organization.
