Rubio, 30, is heading into the last year of his contract at $17.8 million. He’s bounced around a bit the last few years, playing for the Jazz, the Suns and, most recently, the Wolves. He is one of the smartest guards in the league and will be a massive upgrade a backup point guard for the Cavs. Last year, the Cavs struggled to find someone to hold down that position and Rubio is no doubt an upgrade over Dante Exum, Matthew Dellavedova and Damyean Dotson.
Prince, acquired last year as part of the James Harden deal that also netted the Cavs Jarrett Allen, is heading into the last year of his deal as well.
