Cleveland Cavaliers announce 2022 preseason schedule

Cleveland will play two games at home and two on the road.

The Cleveland Cavaliers announced today that the team will prepare for the 2022-23 regular season presented by SeatGeek, the organization’s official ticketing partner, with four preseason games, beginning on October 5 and concluding on October 14.

The slate of games tips off at Wells Fargo Center against the Philadelphia 76ers (Oct. 5) followed by back-to-back games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse vs. Philadelphia (Oct. 10) and the Atlanta Hawks (Oct. 12). The Cavs will conclude their preseason schedule an Orlando against the Orlando Magic on October 14.

The Sixers present an interesting, early challenge for the Cavaliers as Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Kevin Love, Isaiah Mobley and others will have to handle big man Joel Embiid down low. Ditto for James Harden on the perimeter and giving rookie swingman Ochai Agbaji a high caliber test on defense. Mind you, that’s if Embiid and Harden play of course.

But, the same can be said of the Hawks as well with the various threats they have on the perimeter and on the interior. Oh, there’s also Trae Young as well, which will always lead for an exciting matchup.

Speaking of exciting, seeing Paolo Banchero and the Magic to close things out will be a great way to wrap up the preseason sleight for Cleveland and a test to ensure they don’t play down to teams with lower aspirations

The Cavaliers 2022-23 NBA regular season schedule, including ticket options for both preseason and regular season games will be announced at a later date.
