The Cleveland Cavaliers welcome potential three-straight MVP winner Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets to town tonight. This will be the first of back-to-back games for the Cavs with them taking on the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
This is the final of two meetings this season between the Cavs and Nuggets. Denver won the first 121-108 as the Cavs played without the services of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland was just returning from his injured thumb. Jokić also led both teams in points (28), rebounds (1) and assists (10).
What’s interesting about the Cavs and Nuggets recent history, is the amount of season sweeps. Both teams have alternated sweeping each other as the Cavs won both matchups in ‘19-’20 and in ‘21-’22. Meanwhile, the Nuggets had the advantage in ‘18-’19 and ‘20-’21.
The Cavs will look to break that trend and get the series sweep tonight.
