NBA Reacts: Evan Mobley is the Cleveland Cavaliers’ second-most important player vs. New York

The results are in and, according to survey respondents, Evan Mobley is the Cleveland Cavaliers’ second-most important player against the New York Knicks, assuming Donovan Mitchell is the most important player.

The results, in fact, are overwhelming. Sixty-seven percent of people who took the survey picked Mobley vs. 28% for Darius Garland and 9% for Mitchell. (I guess they think that someone else is the most important player, maybe Mobley or Garland?).

It’s easy to see why Mobley would be the pick. He’s an emerging two-way force for the Cavs, scoring more efficiently than he ever has while still doing everything at a high-level on defense. He’ll be even more important if Julius Randle is able to play at all in the series coming off of an ankle injury. At this time, it’s unclear if he’ll be available for Game 1.

Elsewhere in the survey, 77% of people think the Cavs will win their first round series against the Knicks. At DraftKings, Cleveland is a -210 favorite.

By comparison, 98% of respondents think the Bucks will win their first round series regardless of the opponent, 97% of respondents think the Celtics will beat the Hawks and 90% of people think the 76ers will beat the Nets.
