The NBA Finals are here. Let’s get into it.
The first sip
I’m going with the Denver Nuggets in five games against the Miami Heat. Here’s why.
- Nikola Jokic is the best player alive. Their offense has been humming all playoffs and I don’t think it’s going to get slowed down against the Heat.
- The Nuggets have a massive rest advantage. They don’t have any injuries in the way Miami does.
- The Heat have bodies to throw at Jamal Murray, but no one that can really slow him down and stop all of the different ways he attacks. Murray can be hot or cold, but he’s playing with real confidence in these playoffs.
Miami will do some things right and win a game at home. They will be well-coached and gritty. Jimmy Butler is capable of heroics. But it’s not against enough against a team as confident and well-oiled as Denver. This is Jokic’s crowning moment.

Doesn’t seem like D’Angelo Russell is going to stay with the Lakers if the Lakers get their way. Would really like the Fred VanVleet move for them.
