Max Strus was a much talked about target for the Cleveland Cavaliers in free agency. Turns out. they got their man.
As first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs are acquiring Max Strus in a sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. In the deal, Strus comes to Cleveland on a four-year, $63 million deal, the Heat get.a second-round pick and the Spurs acquire Cedi Osman and Lamar Stevens from the Cavs.

The sign-and-trade matters here because Strus is making more than the mid-level exception. Cleveland could not have paid him this on its own. Strus, 27, also gets a solid pay day out of this deal.
